The SURreal Situation: Now the DHS warns of zombie apocalypse

The Department of Homeland Security has recently issued a zombie alert, warning citizens to be prepared for a zombie outbreak. This marks the DHS as the latest to try and make disaster planning fun by adding zombies to the mix. As has been said before, if you’re prepared for a zombie apocalypse, you’re prepared for anything.

Last year the Center for Disease Control used the same tactic. Today their site includes an instructional zombie survival blog and several promotional comics and posters.
“I worry we try the same thing every year and I didn’t know how many people we were actually engaging,” said Dave Daigle of the CDC to the The Los Angeles Times. “Let’s face it, preparedness and public health are not exactly sexy topics.”
